WIBA (AM)
WIBA (1310 AM) is a radio station serving Madison, Wisconsin. Owned by iHeartMedia, Inc., the station airs a news and talk format, and features local talk (a show hosted by Vicki McKenna) as well as syndicated programming (including Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity). WIBA also serves as flagship station for the Wisconsin Badgers radio network, and also airs Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers game broadcasts. WIBA is the oldest commercial radio station in Wisconsin, licensed in 1925 to the ''Capital Times''. Johnny Olson, a famous game show announcer, had his first radio job at WIBA.() ==History== On October 8, 1935, the Federal Communications Commission authorized WIBA to increase its power to 5 KW (daytime) with 1 KW (nights). Willard Waterman, who later gained fame playing the title role on ''The Great Gildersleeve'', was a member of a quartet at WIBA in his early years in radio. In 1963, he recalled, "()e sang musical interludes between programs."〔 〕
